According to Al-Sumaria News, Maj. Gen. Tahseen Khafaji said: "At this base, Iraqi forces and an Iraqi commander are present along with a number of international coalition forces whose mission is to provide assistance to Iraqi forces."
Major General Khafaji went on to add: "The mentioned attack led to the destruction of a mosque and intimidation of citizens and damages to the homes of people.
He stressed that the attack was aimed at conveying the message that Iraq continues to suffer from the problem of illegal weapons.
Khafaji also noted that the Iraqi security and military forces are emphasizing on maintaining the security of the country and confronting those who use weapons outside the law.
The spokesman for the Iraqi Joint Operations Command concluded: "We will not allow Iraq to become the battlefield of other countries."
It is to be noted that 14 rockets were fired at Ain al-Assad base in Anbar province on last Wednesday of June.
