Five PKK forces killed in Turkey strike in Sulaimani province

<p style="text-align: left;">Five members of the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) were killed in a Wednesday strike by Turkey jets in Mawat region in Sulaimani province, the mayor of the region stated.

He also said that the bombing damaged the local health center and nearby houses in the village.

The mayor reiterated that the strike Has not left any human damage to the residents of the region.

Turkey routinely bombs targets in the Kurdistan Region in an effort to combat the PKK, though the most strikes take place further north and west. This is the first time that Turkey jets strike a village in the Kurdistan Region in the north of Iraq.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack and the loss of five PKK personnel in a message on the ministry's official account on Twitter and stressed the continued operations and attacks in various areas of the Kurdish region.

Meanwhile, media affiliated with the PKK quoted the governor of Mawat as saying that the attack was carried out by Turkish drones but failed to mention the identities of those who died in the attack.
