The Iraqi security intelligence unit announced on Tuesday the destruction of a car and two IS strongholds in Salah al-Din province, according to the news website.
The Iraqi Security Information Unit said in a statement that "the brave forces of the Iraqi army's air force, led by Salah al-Din Operations Command, managed to destroy an IS vehicle and its two sanctuaries in Salah al-Din in Ibtal al-Iraq operation.”
The security forces blew up a roadside bomb in the direction of their advance, the Iraqi security information unit said in the statement.
Previously, on the orders of the Prime Minister and General Commander of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, and under the supervision of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, the second phase Ibtal al-Iraq operation was started on Monday morning to examine the southwest areas of Kirkuk between Salah al-Din and Kirkuk provinces on an area of 738.5 square kilometers.
