Turkey opposes US sanctions on Iran: FM

<p style="text-align: left;">Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday, June 15, in Istanbul that Ankara is against unilateral sanctions imposed by the US on Iran.

The Turkish FM said that both sides have reached an agreement with regard to immovable properties belonging to Iranian and Turkish diplomatic missions.

According to IRNA he noted COVID19 taught us unity and solidarity so we will continue cooperation with Iran.

Cavusoglu also stressed establishing cooperation with Iran on Syria.

According to Arab media, he said two-way flights between Iran and Turkey will be resumed on July 1.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also visit Iran after the Corona Crisis," Turkish FM said.

Talking about other issues related to bilateral relations, Cavusoglu added, "With Mr. Erdogan's visit to Iran, we will continue the path to form a commission for strategic relations."

Zarif has traveled to Ankara for a working visit and talks with his counterpart on the latest developments in bilateral relations and the most important regional and international issues.

Zarif also wrote in his tweeter on Monday that "I had productive talks with my friend Mevlut Cavusoglu and other senior officials in Istanbul."

"In-depth exchange and fruitful decisions on bilateral cooperation, and also regional and global issues," he added.

"Close consultations imperative. Next stop: Moscow. Neighbors always our priority," he noted.
