Bombs hit strategic road in Erbil province

<p style="text-align: left;">A bomb planted on the road in the strategic Zain Warti area in Irbil province was detonated.

Xendan news website quoted sources as stating that an explosion occurred on Saturday evening, June 28, in the middle of the road in the strategic Zini Warti area, 110 kilometers away from Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region.

The blast was caused by a bomb planted on the road, according to the report. No casualties have been reported.

The explosion occurred in the middle of the Sadi Road and security forces have started an investigation into the incident.

It is worth noting that the Zini Warti zone is located between the mountains of Karukh and Qandil in Erbil province is one of the areas where PKK forces have been based since 2000. The region has been the site of conflicts between the PKK forces and the Peshmerga forces affiliated with the two parties of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) over the past months.
