"This report is not just a statement of the issue," said Sezgin TanriKulu, Istanbul's representative in the Turkish parliament from the Turkish Republican People's Party (CHP), referring to the report that the party has put the Kurdish issue on the agenda.
"We try to provide a perspective. We are trying to find a way to draw Kurdish votes to our party and encourage them to support the CHP in elections and critical times," the representative said.
"In 2015, we published a report on the Kurdish issue entitled '22 Questions-22 Answers on the Kurdish Issue,'" Tanrikulu was quoted as saying by Cumhuriet newspaper, adding that "In order to keep alive the relationship between the CHP and the Kurds in Turkey, we are updating the report and we will publish a report that actively addresses the Kurdish issue."
