Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoglu, who is in the country to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Dominican Republic, had a bilateral meeting with his American counterparty Mike Pompeo during the ceremony.
According to Haber 7, Çavuşoglu talked to his American counterpart about Turkey-US bilateral relations, the fight against the Corona virus, the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the recent remarks of US presidential candidate Joe Biden about Turkey.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Turkish Foreign Minister criticized Biden's recent remarks on Turkey: "We reject such impositional policies. Biden's remarks are ignorant statements as he has no knowledge of the Turkish people."
