Nechirvan Barzani, Erdogan discusses resumption of talks with PKK: KDP official

<p style="text-align: left;">A senior member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) stressed that Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani's visit to Turkey was aimed at discussing economic, health and security issues, and that he was carrying a message to the Turkish president about returning to talks with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

According to Al-Malumeh, the KDP official Ali al-Faili said Barzani was carrying a message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about returning to negotiations with the PKK.

Al-Faili added: "Barzani's visit to Turkey took place after the federal government agreed to resolve the crisis with the PKK, and in recent days the PKK has announced a ceasefire with the aim of compromising with Turkey."

The senior member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) also said that the Kurdish region was unlikely to play any role in bringing Turkey and France closer together.

"Kurdish parties are protesting against this law," Mr al-Faili also said about the new Iraqi election law.
