<p style="text-align: left;">A member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK-S) said Kurds are at a critical stage and the recent meeting between Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could have a positive impact on the situation of the Kurds in Syria.

Abdul Rahman Apo, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (PDK-S), told KurdPress in an interview that the visit by president Barzani is within his meetings with officials of the regional countries.

He continued: "Kurdistan Region officials hold meeting with the officials of other countries in order to get away from the regional differences and to protect the rights of the Kurdish people and the interests of the Kurdish people in other sectors."

He added: "Mr. Nichervan Barzani's official visit to Turkey is within the framework of the same diplomatic measures. He was in Baghdad days ago and in Turkey a day after; despite the fact that we known what is the nature of Turkey! And tomorrow he will travel to another country.&rdquo;

Abdul Rahman Apo pointed out: "These diplomatic actions and contacts are very necessary and vital for the Kurds, especially at a time when the Kurds are going through a very sensitive phase."

Asked what impact the meeting will have on the situation of the Kurds in Syria, the official said: "Undoubtedly, this meeting will have a positive impact on Syrian Kurdistan, because there are common points in the bilateral talks.&rdquo;
