Mustafa Kadhimi arrived in Sulaimani on Friday, September 11, and after meeting with Hawal Abu Bakr, the governor of the province, he visited the tomb of Jalal Talabani along with Lahore Sheikh Jangi, the joint chairman of the PUK at Debashan area.

The official website of the Patriotic Union reported that Kadhimi paid tribute to the first Iraqi president after the fall of Saddam Hussein by donating flowers and writing a memorial text at the tomb's memorial office.

Kadhimi arrived in Erbil a day before, and after meeting with Kurdistan Regional Government President Nechirvan Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani and Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the region. He also visited Ibrahim Khalil border crossing and one of the refugee camps in the region.
