New Syrian FM to visit Iran as first foreign visit

<p dir="LTR" style="text-align: justify;">Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh on Sunday, December 6, announced the first foreign trip of the new Syrian foreign minister Faisal Meqdad will be to Iran.

Khatibzadeh said that Meqdad will meet his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and also other officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, IRNA reported

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad appointed Meqdad as the new foreign minister on November 22 to replace his predecessor Walid al-Muallem who passed away.
