Turkey jets hit areas in Shingal

<p style="text-align:left">Turkish warplanes conducted airstrikes on Wednesday, August 15, hitting suspected positions of an Yazidi armed group in Shingal, NRT reported.

One of the airstrikes hit an area near a military base of the Shingal Resistance Units (YBS), the report said.
Areas in south of Shingal also came under attack of the Turkish warplanes.
An YBS commander, Zardasht Sinjari, declined to give comments on the Turkish airstrikes in a phone conversation with the NRT reporter.
Iraqi Prime Minister, Haidar al-Abadi met with Turkish President Erdogan following his arrival to Ankara on Tuesday for talks on bilateral cooperation.
Erdogan said in a press conference that both countries reached understandings to cooperate on confronting terror and the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; Party (PKK).
Abadi said he will not allow Iraqi soil to be used for threats against neighboring countries.
