Iraq foreign ministry condemns terror attack in Iran

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi Foreign Ministry in a statement condemned the Saturday morning terrorist attack on a military parade in the southwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz.

Iraq strongly condemned the terror attack in Ahvaz in which scores of military and civilian people were killed and wounded, Spokesman for Iraqi Foreign Ministry Ahmed Mahjoub said.

According to IRNA Mahjoub also reaffirmed Iraq's unchangeable stance in rejecting as unacceptable any acts of violence under whatever pretext or motives in any country which endangers the security and stability of that country.

He also extended condolences to the families of victims, the government and people of Iran and wished quick recovery for the injured people.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province, in southwestern Iran.

&ldquo;The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,' Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said earlier.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
