Earlier on Thursday, Abdul Mahdi met with the head of the National Wisdom Movement Ammar Hakim to discuss the formation of the next government.

A statement from Abdul Mahdi’s office said that during the meeting the two sides stressed the importance of unity in solving the economic and service provision problems in the country and undertaking the next phase of reconstruction, NRT reported.

They also discussed ways to encourage investment and maintain security and stability and strengthen Iraq's relations with other countries.
