“Historic and deeply rooted cultural and social ties are linking Iraq and Iran,” Saleh wrote on his Twitter page on Sunday.

According to IRNA the Iraqi president added “we are working hard to strengthen the relations and economic cooperation of the two countries.”

He noted that Iraq will be pivotal in the establishment of a regional organization based on respect for national sovereignty and economic synergy.
