Based on a document provided by Iraqi Oil Minister Ehsan Abdul Jabbar to the Federal Directorate of Petroleum Revenue, the Ministry of Petroleum has asked the KRG to name its competent representatives, who have been named so far, to implement the ruling of the federal court regarding the Kurdistan Region oil export, Shafaq News reported.
In accordance with the ministry's responsibilities in managing the entire oil activities of Iraq, the document states that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, has taken a series of measures to achieve the desired goal of maximizing national revenues and integration in energy case management in line with the Federal Court ruling.
On February 15, the Iraqi Supreme Federal Court ruled that the Kurdistan Regional Government's oil and gas law was unconstitutional and asked Erbil to deliver all oil produced from oil fields in the region to Baghdad. The KRG described the federal court ruling as illegal and related to the previous Iraqi regime and rejected it.
