Barzani, Kuwaiti officials discuss ties

<p style="text-align:left">The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and former president of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, met with a group of Kuwaiti officials on Tuesday for talks on the bilateral ties between the sides, BasNews reported.

The meeting came before his return to the Kurdistan Region where he held talks with Kuwait&rsquo;s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah about the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, Barzani's office said, adding that he was accompanied by Masrour Barzani, the Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC).
Barzani also met with Kuwait&rsquo;s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah to review the latest political process in Baghdad, the statement added.
Earlier on Sunday, Barzani visited the UAE where he met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan.
Masrour Barzani described the meetings as "fruitful".
"Fruitful visit to Kuwait following talks in UAE &mdash; Discussed opening for KRG and Baghdad to chart a new course rooted in mutual interests and respect; advancing bilateral relations, and Kuwait&rsquo;s important aid and reconstruction contributions," Chancellor Barzani said on his Twitter account.
