Felicitating the PUK for winning the second place in the region’s parliament elections, Abadi stated that the trust and support of the people is a valuable capital and wished success for the PUK deputies in fulfilling their duties.

Abadi also delivered a report about the actions of Iran consulate in Erbil for providing services for the people of the Kurdish region and the Iranian nationals in the region, calling for the return of Iranian inmates in the region to their country.

A leading member of the PUK who attended the meeting, Bigard Talabani expressed her happiness for the visit of the Iranian official and called the recent visit of the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to the region as very precious and an attempt to enhance Tehran- Erbil ties.
