Civilians killed as Turkish jets bomb Kurdistan Region

<p style="text-align:left">Turkish warplanes bombed several areas in Sinjar and Makhmour in Kurdistan Region, northern Iraq, on Thursday night, December 13.

One of the airstrikes hit near a refugee camp in Makhmour, according to a source. Firat News Agency later reported that three Kurdish fighters form the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; Party (PKK) had been killed in the airstrike and another wounded.

The other strikes were in Girizer and Gali Shlun in Sinjar.

Meanwhile another report stated that 4 women were killed in the attack; they were buried on Friday in a funeral ceremony.

A source in Makhmour told NRT that warplanes had been spotted circling the area since yesterday.

&ldquo;Our air force has bombed Shingal and Qarachukh mountain in order to protect our borders,&rdquo; the Turkish defense ministry said in a statement.
