Iran, Russia, Turkey underscore Syria independence

<p style="text-align:left">Iran, Russia and Turkey stressed in a statement on their strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Syria which is hit by civil war since 2011.

The foreign ministers of the three countries held a trilateral and consultative meeting on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Syria in Geneva, Staffan de Mistura.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, Sergey Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu presented positive results of their consultations with the Syrian parties on the composition of the constitutional committee, IRNA reported
The FMs also reaffirmed their will to facilitate the commencement of the constitutional committee by elaborating its general and strategic principles through interaction with the Syrian parties and the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Syrian affairs, on the basis of which a code of conduct in order to guarantee the effective and sustainable work of the Committee, it will be drafted.
