The party’s National Assembly met on Friday, July 5, in Suliamani to discuss the more than 40 candidates are competing for the positions that Gorran is expected to take up once government formed.
A party member who spoke on condition of anonymity told NRT that the party also decided to authorize Ali to make the final selection, keeping in mind the discussions that have taken place within the party.
Gorran is believed to be in line for a vice president position, as well as deputy prime minister for reform affairs and the ministries of finance and economy, housing and reconstruction, trade and industry, and labor and social affairs.
They are also expected receive the deputy minister positions in the ministries of education, interior, electricity, and municipalities and tourism, secretary-general of the Peshmerga affairs ministry, and twelve percent of the general directorate and consultancy posts.
KRG Prime Minister-designate Masrour Barzani was tasked with forming the new government by President Nechirvan Barzani on June 12 and has 30 days to do so.
