Diyari Hussein, a KDP representative to the area, told BasNews that they prefer the Kurdish factions to form one united front to take part in the elections in Kirkuk, but that his party will not participate in the process without the stabilization of the city.
He also noted that the process of correcting the list of voters, which is expected to be done next year, will fail because the "situation in Kirkuk has not made any steps forward."
However, Hussein pointed out that they are optimistic about the continuous discussions for appointing a new governor for Kirkuk as soon as possible.
