No IS forces in Afrin: U.S. department of state

<p style="text-align: left;">The U.S. department of state denied reports that there are members of the Islamic State (IS) in the Syrian northern Kurdish town of Afrin that is under the attack of Turkish forces.

According to the website of the U.S. department of state, the Spokeswoman of the department Heather Nauert expressed Washington&rsquo;s worry over the situation in the town in the past days and stated that we want Turks to end the tensions.

She added that the town of Afrin is a secure and stable region in Syria, warning about further tension in the region.

She also denied Turkey claims that there are IS militants in the town.

Nauert, however, stated that White House understands Turkey&rsquo;s concern over the militants of the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; party (PKK) and stated that the U.S. is ready to cooperate with the U.S. in this regard.
