Only Haider al-Abadi is legitimate to command Peshmerga: commander

<p style="text-align:left">A commander of the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq stated that the former President of the region is no longer legitimate to command the Kurdish forces and only Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is legitimate to lead the Kurdish forces.

A commander of Peshmerga forces in Gwer-Makhmur axis, Sirwan Barzani told al-Hadth news agency that only Abadi is legitimate to command the Peshmerga forces, adding that former Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani is no longer the general commander of the forces.

Barzani further revealed that the U.S. military base in Makhmur has been transferred to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish region, after Makhmur fell to the control of the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi forces.
