France’s foreign minister arrived in the region through Erbil International Airport at 6 p.m. on Monday, where he was welcomed by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani.

Le Drian would hold talks with KRG premier Barzani, NRT reported.

The French minister visited Iraq on Monday to discuss the war-torn country's reconstruction with Iraqi officials after Baghdad declared victory against the Islamic State (IS).
