Nechirvan Barzani, Javad Zarif meet in Munich

<p style="text-align:left">The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif meet in Munich, Germany, on the sideline of Munich Security Conference on Sunday February 17.

According to ISNA News agency the two sides discussed cooperation between Erbil and Tehran as well as the ways to boost ties between the two sides.

Expressing his appreciation from the Islamic Republic of Iran for its supports to the Kurdish region, Barzani said a new protocol is to be made between the two sides within efforts to boost bilateral relations.

A high-profile delegation accompanied Barzani in the visit.

Zarif, for his side, voiced Iran’s support from a popular election in the region and asked for more negotiations between Erbil and the Iraqi central government in Baghdad.
