US sends reinforcement to Manbij

The United States has reportedly sent additional troops to the northern Syrian town of Manbij where Turkey threatens to attack soon.

Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency claimed on Sunday that the new reinforcement is made up of approximately 300 US soldiers.

Quoting unidentified “local sources”, the agency said that the US convoy includes armored vehicles and construction machines.

“The reinforcements were deployed near the Sajur River,” according to Anadolu Agency. “Also, reinforcements were deployed around Zub'ul Bayn village, west of Manbij.”

After taking over the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northwest of Syria, the Turkish army said it is planning to extend the operation further to Manbij unless the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units leave the strategic location.
