High-ranking Iranian delegation to visit Erbil to expand ties: deputy

<p style="text-align: left;">Iranian parliament deputy from Piranshahr and Sardasht constituency Rasoul Khezri said on Monday that a high-ranking delegation will accompany Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade as well as governors general of Tehran, West Azarbaijan provinces and governor of Piranshahr city who are to visit Erbil, Kurdistan Region, to expand trade ties.

He told IRNA that he is to accompany the delegation, adding that consultations concerning border crossings and investment in both sides of the borders are to be cases of discussions.

Khezri said Iranian delegation is to depart for Erbil on Tuesday and they will hold talks with Iraqi Kurdistan officials on Wednesday.

The official customs of Tamarchin in Piranshahr is a main exchanging point between Iran and Iraq.

In year 2016-2017, 845,511 tons goods worth 122.450 million dollars were exported from this customs office, but in the last half of 2017, because of developments in north of Iraq, it was closed.

Tamarchin Border point was officially opened 11 years ago and played noticeable role in regional economic.
