According to NRT the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) official website reported on Tuesday, May 8, that the KRG premier had set September 30 this year for elections in the region.
Parliamentary and Presidential elections in the Kurdish region were due to take place on November 1, 2017, but were cancelled when tensions rose significantly after Iraqi forces retook Kirkuk and other disputed areas in mid-October.
The Kurdistan Parliament on October 24 extended its current term for another eight months after Kurdistan parliament and presidential elections were postponed.
