Turkey, US make roadmap for Manbij

<p style="text-align: left;">The United States and Turkey on Monday, June 4, endorsed a roadmap for Manbij in northern Syria following a meeting of the two states foreign ministers.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo underlined, in the meting in Washington, their mutual commitment to the implementation of the roadmap in Manbij, Reuters reported.

They also discussed cooperation in Syria, along with potential steps to ensure security and stability in the Manbij, they said in a joint statement.

&ldquo;They endorsed a Road Map to this end and underlined their mutual commitment to its implementation, reflecting agreement to closely follow developments on the ground,&rdquo; the joint statement read.

They gave no details regarding the roadmap or its timetable.

Turkish state-run Anadolu Agency said last week that Turkey and US had reached a technical agreement on a three-step YPG withdrawal plan in Manbij. The US Department of State later denied the reports.
