They also reportedly discussed the upcoming provincial elections in central and southern Iraq in April 2020 and issues related to Kirkuk.
During a joint press conference following the meeting, KDP Spokesperson Mahmud Muhammad said that a number of important decisions were taken during the meeting and that the two parties held similar opinions on many issues, NRT reported.
Comments from Gorran official Aras Wali, however, seemed to indicate that the conversation also focused on what share his party could expect to receive from the sub-ministerial potions available.
Wali said that the only remaining problems relate to technical issues, adding that party picks for government positions will soon be assigned to specific jobs.
Muhammad said that they are planning a party-political meeting between the KDP, Gorran, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), the last of which also sits in government.
