According to Kurdistan 24 Faili dies last night at Farooq Hospital in the city.
Also the chief of PUK foreign ties, Faili was born in 1945 and was a high-profile member of the party.
Faili's death followed two more big losses for the PUK after its charismatic Leader Jalal Talabani late last year and the death of PUK leading figure Adil Murad months ago.
