PMF says it is unaware who hit Peshmerga positions in Alton Kopri

A senior member of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF also known as Hashd al-Shaabi) reacted to the firing of three Katyusha rockets at Peshmerga positions in the border areas of ​​Kirkuk and Erbil provinces.

According to Shafaq News, Ali al-Husseini, the spokesman for the northern Iraqi axis of the PMF, said: "So far, there is no information about the rocket attack on Peshmerga positions in the area between Kirkuk and Erbil provinces, and we do not know which group was responsible for this attack."

Al-Husseini added: "The PMF is far from this axis and has not reported any rocket or mortar fire."

The spokesman for the northern axis of the PMF also said that the rockets may have been fired from areas which suffer security vacuum or areas controlled by the Iraqi army or Peshmerga forces, and that investigations are ongoing to determine where the rockets were fired.

It is to be noted that on Monday evening, Nouri Hama Ali, the head of the Alton Kopri axis of the Peshmerga forces, announced that unidentified individuals fired three Katyusha rockets at the Peshmerga forces stationed in the Shirawe area near Prdi region between Kirkuk and Erbil provinces.

Nouri Hama Ali added that no Peshmerga was killed or injured in the rocket attack.
