Answering the question how it is possible for the Syrian Kurds to reach an agreement while there are deep rifts between the two main Kurdish parties of the PYD and ENKS, Gello Issa, told KurdPress that at the first level of the negotiations, talks were held between the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD).This was only the first stage, and there were problems between the two sides but they were resolved. However, the second phase of the talks would not be between them only; but 25 parties would continue the negotiations with the ENKS within the framework of the Patriotic Union of Kurds.
He continued: "In order for the Kurdish nation to get their rights in Syria and the achievements that have been made in the past nine years in northern Syria, they must reach a united approach and get united."
He added: “The Kurds need to reach a unified approach to negotiate with opposition and the central government on a decentralized and federal Syria. Democracy needs to be established in Syria and the war should end, political prisoners should be freed and the refugees return to their homes.”
Since the beginning of the Syrian Republic to this day, Kurdish rights have been neglected by the government and the Kurds have been subjected to injustices. But today, it is necessary for the Syrian-Syrian negotiations to resolve the problems of the Syrian people in the form of a de-facto Syria, and the opposition must accept what the Kurds have made in the past nine years, the member of the central committee of the PDKS said about the party's view on the future political system in Syria.
Responding to the question about what would happen to the Kurds and their political status in the conflict between the United States and Russia in northern Syria, Gello Issa said: Syria is in a deep crisis. Today, both the world and regional powers have violated Syrian sovereignty. Some have entered Syria based on the political and social conditions, and some have resorted to aggressive methods.
He further noted that Russia, Iran and the central government are on the same front, the U.S. and democratic Syrian forces are on one front, Turkey and radical jihadi groups on the other side. Syria has turned into a battle ground and an international crisis.
The KDPS official pointed out that the Syrian crisis has three internal, regional and global aspects. The U.S. and Russia need to agree on a joint project for the future of Syria, activate the constitution meeting and engage all different parties in Geneva talks according to the 2254 Geneva article.
He further added: The U.S. and Russia need to act based on the demands of the Syrian nation and not the countries in the region and seek political solutions for the future of Syria.
Gello Issa stressed that world powers are looking for their own interests in Syria. The countries in the region that are in Syria have become weaker and the international community and political forces have no choice but to find solutions to the Syrian crisis.
Perhaps the solution to the Syrian crisis depends on the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue, and, in the second phase of negotiations between the Kurdish parties, a decision should be make for talks with the Syrian opposition and a demand should be made for talks among all parties so that the preparations the preparations are made for writing a new Constitution and a new and democratic Syria.
