Erdogan doesn’t want to solve Kurdish issue in Turkey politically: expert

<p style="text-align: left;">An expert of Middle East affairs, Ludo Brabander, says Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has blocked the political solution to the Kurdish issue in Turkey and does not to resolve the issue through political steps.

Barabander, a Middle East expert and the VZW Institute spokesman blamed Turkish president for failure of peace talks between the Kurds and the Turkish government.

In an interview with a Filipino newspaper, he added: "Erdogan made reforms at the beginning of his rule in Turkey and hopes for peace in the country increased, but later turned away from these efforts and after three rounds of peace talks with the Kurds in the 2009 and 2015 shifted to hegemony, destroying efforts to find a political solution to the Kurdish question.

The Belgian activist also criticized European countries and the United States for equipping Turkey with a variety of weapons and their shortcomings over the Kurdish issue.
