Senior Syrian Kurdish officials who have met with US officials in Washington and in areas under their control in northern Syria say the United States has promised them not to withdraw its forces from Syria and not to leave them alone.
But Reuters wrote about the promise of the presence of US forces in the Kurdish-controlled areas of Syria that: "These promises have not been able to allay the concerns and fears of the Kurds."
The report notes that Kurdish concerns stem from the US hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan and its recurrence in northern Syria. The Kurds, on the other hand, face a variety of threats, from the ISIS to the threat of a Turkish invasion.
The report cites US President Joe Biden's different approach to the Donald Trump administration towards the Syrian Kurds. "Joe Biden seems to have taken a more coherent approach towards the Syrian Kurds," Reuters wrote.
