Erdogan, Barham Salih discussed PKK, water issue: analyst

<p style="text-align: left;">An Iraqi political analyst claimed in an interview with al-Tejah News agency that Iraqi President Barham Salih and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed water tension between the two states and the presence of Turkish forces in Iraq for fighting against the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK).

Sarmad al-Bayati told the agency that the visiting Iraqi president has seriously discussed 7 issues, including water and the PKK, with Turkish officials during his visit to Ankara.

The analyst stressed that the issue of Turkish forces leaving Iraq was another topic that Salih discussed with Ankara authorities and it seems the forces would not quit Iraq as long as the issue of the PKK remains unsolved.
