A source from the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs told NRT that the delegation was headed by the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Alaq.
A technical team from Baghdad is also expected to arrive in Erbil on Monday, said the source who spoke under condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media.
The delegation will hold talks with the officials of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, he added.
“The aim of the visit is to discuss the money sent to Iraqi central bank’s branch in Erbil, and to explain the time of distributing salaries of employees,” he noted.
The delegation is also expected to discuss a ban imposed on the international flights to and from the Kurdistan Region’s airports, the source said.
Iraqi Prime Minister, Haidar al-Abadi said on March 6 that Baghdad would pay salaries of Kurdish public servants from a number of ministries before Newroz, March 21.
KRG spokesman, Safin Dizayee said on March 8 that Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Abadi had serious talks by telephone the previous week.
