Zebari, a leading member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), told a campaign of the party for the upcoming Iraqi parliament election in Zomar region that the will and demand of the Kurds should be respected, adding that the goal of the plebiscite was not to declare independence right after it but the Kurds expressed their demand to the world through the referendum.

He added that some lines in Iraq see the Kurds as quests while the Kurds are the owners of the land and it is their very right to be a partner in Iraq.

The Iraqi constitution is a social contract and it should be fulfilled completely, said Zebari who worked as Iraq’s minister of finance in the former government.
