Ten civilians and members of the Peshmerga forces were killed in attacks by Islamic State (ISIS) in the foothills of Qarachogh mountain, southwest of Erbil, late on Thursday, the ministry of Peshmerga said on Friday.
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani said on Sunday that Peshmerga forces, Iraq military and U.S-led Coalition forces should further coordinate to eliminate Islamic State (ISIS) threats.
Five members of the Peshmerga forces were killed after Islamic State (ISIS) militants attacked the Kurdish forces in Diyala province late on Saturday, Esta Media Network said.
An official from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs stated on Thursday, September 16, that the Peshmerga and Iraqi Security Forces will form two additional joint brigades to combat Islamic State (ISIS) remnants.
