Syrian and Iraqi Kurds should be united instead of relying on Biden: daily

Kurds in Iraq and Syria should not rely too much on US president-elect Joe Biden to advance their affairs, but should strengthen the unity among themselves, the British newspaper Levant wrote in an article.

Some Kurdish leaders in Iraq and Syria have expressed hope that Joe Biden will be elected as the new president of the United States because they believe that Joe Biden will interact better with the Kurds in Iraq and Syria than current US President Donald Trump and Biden would also attempt to resolve the Kurdish issue in Turkey

But the English Levant newspaper wrote about the Kurds optimism about Joe Biden that "Joe Biden has a tense relationship with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It should be noted that the superpowers, especially the United States - regardless of who is president, are more interested in their own interests.

The paper also notes that Joe Biden may be more inclined to resolve Kurdish issues, but Kurds should not be too optimistic about the US president.

Levant described the lack of unity as the main problem between the Kurds of Iraq and Syria, and advised them to strengthen their unity instead of seeking the support from superpowers.
