U.S. won’t allow Turkish attacks on Syrian oil regions, party member tells KurdPress

<p style="text-align: left;">A member of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (P.Y.D.K) warned that Turkish threats against the existence of the Syrian Kurdish semi-autonomous region are serious but stated that the U.S. would not allow any Ankara attacks against the oil-rich Kurdish regions in war-torn Syria in the north.

Mahmoud Mohammed, a member of the political school of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party (P.Y.D.K), told KurdPress in an interview that the threats against Syrian Kurdistan are serious and they are ongoing every day.

He added that Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan thinks he is an Ottoman Sultan and will not hesitate to conduct any attack, continuing to say that "All Turkey efforts are to return to the era of the Ottoman Empire and it is slowly seeking to execute its project.

Answering a question about possible Turkish attacks on oil-rich areas between the city of Qamishlo and the city of Amouda, the party official stated that "This is impossible as US forces are stationed in the oil-rich areas and would not allow Turkey to attack these areas."

Mahmoud Mohammed explained that the city of Kobani and Ain al-Issa are the most possible targets of any Turkey attacks and these areas are at a high risk.
