Masoud Tak, the Secretary General of the Turkish Kurdish Socialist Party (PSK), said some consider the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) activities to be in line with the PKK moves but the HDP policy is clear as it has been established according to the Turkish Party Parties Law and is pursuing democratic solutions, but the PKK is not the case.
He continued: "It is something natural that some members of the HDP are under the influence of the PKK's policy, and some part of the issue goes back to the political situation in Turkey Kurdistan.
Asked how he evaluates the arrests of the HDP leaders and members and removing the impunity of the HDP parliament members, Masoud Tak explained: "The DP is fighting against the government oppression; therefore it is seeking national and democratic rights for Kurds in Turkey, adding that the HDP is against oppression and seeks democracy, peace and freedom but it is attacked by the government and many of its leaders have been jailed, and the immunity of some of HDP parliamentarians have been denied immunity.
The actions of the government are against democracy and violate the rights of voters who voted for the Democratic Peoples' Party. Massoud Tak noted.
Answering the question if the PKK is the only Turkey problem in dealing with its Kurdish question, the party official stated: “No, the problem is not the PKK armed struggle as for the Turkish government it is only an excuse. The Turkish government deliberately says the PKK means the Kurdish issue and "the PKK means terror", adding that Turkey wants to use some of the wrong PKK actions which are considered "terrorist act" in the international community to label the Kurdish legitimate and democratic rights as terror.
He added, "We should not forget that the nature of the Turkish government is based on the denial and destruction of the Kurdish nation and the establishment of other national and religious structures. Based on the chauvinist policy, those living in Turkey should be Turkish and Muslim, and those who oppose such a system and follow their national demands face harsh treatment.
We should also not forget that there was no PKK when Turkey Republic Founder Mustafa Kamal Ata-Turk slaughtered the Kurds in Diyarbakir and Agri and Zilan and Dersim.
He stressed: Since the Kurds seek their rights, democracy and peace, they are subjected to the Turkish government's wrath and are dealt with in the worst way.
In response to the question about how the party's policy is to follow up on Turkey Kurdish demands, the General Secretary of the Socialist Party of Turkey (PSK) explained: "No doubt we have the right to create a sovereign state like many other nations, but given the Kurdish and Turkish state conditions, we have suggested a federal system to solve the Kurdish problem in Turkey. The federalism we are seeking for believes in social and political justice.
There is no connection between our party and the PKK because we are a legal party in Turkey and this is not the case with the PKK," Masoud Tak, told KurdPress about any ties between his party and the PKK, adding that “our relationship with the HDP is good, and we want to improve this relationship and work together for reconciliation and democracy and Kurdish national demands in Turkey.”
In response to the question what is his assessment of the Turkish attack on Syrian Kurdistan and Iraq's Kurdistan region, the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party of Turkey (PSK) said: Turkey attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan and Syrian Kurdistan is the extension of the same policy of hostility with the Kurds. Turkey considers any national achievement of the Kurds anywhere as a threat to its national security.
Turkey has taken an enemy policy to eliminate Kurdish achievements and takes any action even if it supports Islamic terrorist groups to eliminate these achievements, Masoud Tak added.
The secretary-general of the PSK noted that Turkey attacks on other regions of Kurdistan are merely an excuse and a pretext for countering Kurdish political achievements.
