A Kurdish journalist claimed in a Twitter message that a high-ranking US delegation met with PKK leaders in Qandil on Sunday August 2.
VOA's Ribaz Majid, quoting an unnamed source close to PKK officials, said the delegation had traveled from Rania to Qandil and was escorted by US fighter jets.
"The United States has called on the PKK leaders to refrain from intervening in Syria, and in return the United States will directly support the administration of the Syrian Kurdistan," Majid continued.
He added that the US delegation had proposed a peace project similar to the peace agreement with the Taliban, but that it was not clear whether it aims to make peace between Turkey and the PKK or between Turkey and Syria Kurdistan.
It should be noted that the United States has classified the PKK as a terrorist organization. Official and diplomatic sources have not commented about the news yet.
