Asia Times has prepared a report about the consequences of the Turkish attacks in the Kurdistan region which it has conducted under the pretext of the presence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) forces in this region.
One of the main consequences of the Turkish attacks is the evacuation of villages in the northern part of the Iraqi Kurdistan.
According to the report, the attacks not only have targeted the Kurdish villages, but also the Christian villages inhabited by Christian refugees from Mosul following the ISIS attack, and there is a possibility that these villages will be vacated.
Residents of Christian villages in the northern part of the Kurdistan Region have told Asia Times that these villages are being targeted only because they are close to PKK headquarters, and that a number of ordinary residents in the area have died as a result of the aimless attacks by Turkey.
Referring to the entry of Turkish army logistics into the Kurdistan Region at the same time as Turkish airstrikes on villages in the region, the report said that these measures pave the way for the depopulation of villages to create new military bases for Turkish forces.
