“From Abdullah Muqtada al-Sadr to the enemy of God Benjamin Netanyahu. I warn you against coming to the country of the infallible, Iraq, and you should not think about opening an embassy in Iraq,” Sadr said during his Friday sermon according to his media office.
“It will be your end,” he added.
He also criticized the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain for normalizing their ties with Israel in deals brokered by the United States.
“Normalization is a humiliation…Palestine is alive in our consciences,” Sadr said.
Iraq once had a large Jewish population, but few have remained in the country.
Many Iraqi Jews left for Israel, where they constitute a significant community.
