"As I have said many times, the independence of the Kurdistan Region will bring stability," John Bolton, a former adviser to the US National Security Council and former ambassador to the United Nations, told Kurdistan 24 TV about the US presidential election on Friday evening.
The former US National Security Council adviser criticized Donald Trump for withdrawing US troops from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, saying: The decision of the US president to leave the Syrian Kurds alone while we were fighting together against the ISIS, as well as the attempt to withdraw all American troops from Iraq and the fact that the president has spoken publicly about the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, have all endangered the whole region.
"I'm not sure Biden is better than Trump," he said of the Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden. The Kurds and the Americans, who are concerned about the danger to the Kurds again, should work harder to make someone worthy of the presidency and to maintain our strong relations with the Kurds.
"According to opinion polls, Biden is leading, but Hillary Clinton was also in the lead in the 2016 election, and she did not win," John Bolton said of the outcome of the polls in next three days.
Bolton further described the normalization of relations between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel as a geopolitical shift in the region that took place because of Iran's support for militants in the region, not because of its nuclear threat.
"As you know, Erdogan has talked to Trump many times about the Hulk Bank," Bolton said of US-Turkish relations and the US waiver of sanctions on Iranian assets, especially by the Hulkbank. In the United States, the public prosecutor has questioned a number of high-ranking officials about the bank for violating sanctions on Iran. If an American bank reduced sanctions on Iran and lied to the government, I'm sure it would suffer a heavier penalty. But in the end, Hulkbank lost, and if Biden wins, it will be punished 100%.
Regarding the role of the Kurds in the fight against terrorism and the fight against the ISIS, the former US ambassador to the United Nations said: a number of US administration officials tried to explain to the president that the Kurds have played a big role in the fight against the ISIS and the fall of the self-called caliphate in Syria
He ultimately stressed that if Joe Biden becomes the next president of the United States, he should realize the importance of the Kurds, adding that: Trump will not be good. We all see this clearly. I think Biden is also insecure and vague ... Kurdish friends in the United States and his advisers should work more with Biden and explain to him the need to support the Kurds.
