PKK is a terrorist organization and it must leave Syria: US envoy

<p style="text-align: left;">The US Special Representative to Syria called the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) a terrorist organization and called for the complete withdrawal of its forces from Syria.

Referring to the PKK's presence in Syria, James Jeffrey, a spokesman for US President Donald Trump said that "we consider the PKK as a terrorist organization that must leave Syria. The PKK's presence in Syria is one of the most important problems in the Syrian crisis."

"We want to see the PKK withdraw from Syria," Jeffrey was quoted as saying by PeyamaKurd.

&ldquo; This is the main reason for the tensions in northeastern Syria with Turkey. We want to reduce these tensions because we have very high and regular coordination with Turkey in other parts of Syria except Northeast Syria. We have a military agreement with Turkey. But Turkey has real concerns about the structure of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the existence of the PKK. Therefore, the solution to this problem is to reduce the existence of the PKK in the region and ultimately eliminate it completely. That is why we support negotiations between the Syrian Kurds," the envoy added.
