Joel Rayburn, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Syrian Affairs, explained US policy in Syria at a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing.
He stressed the United States' adherence to the political process in Syria in accordance with the UN resolution, as well as its engagement with key players in Syria, such as Russia.
In another part of his speech, Rayburn stressed that the United States will continue to support the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in the fight against ISIS.
Rayburn stressed that the United States is trying to prevent the Syrian government's sanctions law from affecting Kurdish-controlled areas in Syria.
