According to Kurdpress, Miyahi, the former governor of Wasit and the head of the serving faction in the Iraqi parliament, wrote in a message on the "X" social network: "After the death of Jalal Talabani, the Kurds have not agreed on a single candidate for the post of president."
He added: "In all previous periods, more than one candidate was nominated for this post, but now why is the parliament closed and legal deadlines are ignored under the pretext of the Kurds not agreeing on a single candidate?"
Miyahi also emphasized: "Political forces indirectly agree that the presidential post belongs to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, without paying attention to the existing dialogues and initiatives."
